Refund & Return Policy

Effective Date: April 15, 2026

At Atlas PCB, we stand behind the quality of our work. This policy explains when and how you can request a refund or replacement.


Important: Custom-Manufactured Products

All PCBs are custom-manufactured to your specifications. Unlike off-the-shelf products, each board is produced uniquely based on your Gerber files and requirements. This means:

  • “Change of mind” returns are not accepted — we cannot resell or reuse custom boards
  • This is consistent with the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), Article 16(c), which exempts goods “made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized” from the right of withdrawal

However, we fully guarantee the quality of our manufacturing work.


When You ARE Eligible for a Refund or Remake

1. Manufacturing Defects

If the delivered PCBs do not meet the agreed-upon IPC standards (Class 2 or Class 3), you are entitled to a full refund or free remake. Examples include:

  • Broken traces or open circuits
  • Short circuits caused by manufacturing
  • Incorrect layer stackup
  • Plating defects (insufficient copper thickness, voids)
  • Solder mask misalignment beyond IPC tolerance
  • Drill holes not matching specifications

2. Order Does Not Match Gerber Files

If the delivered PCBs do not match your approved Gerber files (wrong dimensions, wrong layer count, wrong material, etc.), you are entitled to a full refund or free remake.

3. Shipping Damage

If your PCBs arrive physically damaged due to transit, you are entitled to a full refund or free remake. You must:

  • Report damage within 7 calendar days of delivery
  • Provide clear photographs of the damage and packaging
  • Retain the original packaging for potential carrier claims

4. PCBA (Assembly) Defects

For assembled boards, we cover:

  • Assembly errors (our fault): Wrong component placement, poor soldering, tombstoning — full refund or free remake
  • Component defects: If we sourced the components and they are defective, we will replace or refund the affected portion

When You Are NOT Eligible for a Refund

1. Customer Design Errors

If the PCBs are manufactured correctly according to your Gerber files, but your design has errors, this is not eligible for refund. Our engineering review is a courtesy advisory and does not constitute a guarantee of design correctness.

We offer: A discounted remake at 50% off if you provide corrected files within 30 days.

2. Change of Mind

We cannot accept returns for custom products simply because you no longer need them or changed your design.

3. Cosmetic Issues Within Tolerance

Minor cosmetic variations that fall within IPC Class 2 or Class 3 tolerances (as applicable) are not defects.

4. Late Claims

Claims submitted more than 30 calendar days after delivery cannot be accepted, except where local law requires a longer period.


How to Request a Refund

  1. Email us at support@atlaspcb.com with:

    • Your order number
    • Description of the issue
    • Clear photographs showing the defect
    • Any test results or measurements (if applicable)
  2. We review your claim within 2 business days

  3. Resolution: We offer either:

    • Full refund to your original payment method (5-10 business days)
    • Free remake with expedited production
  4. Return shipping (if required): We provide a prepaid return label for defective goods. You do not need to return boards for obvious defects documented by photos.


Partial Orders

If only a portion of your order is defective, we refund or remake the defective quantity proportionally. You keep the conforming boards.


Regional Consumer Rights

European Union

EU consumers retain all mandatory consumer protection rights under their national laws. The custom goods exemption applies to the right of withdrawal, but your rights regarding quality guarantees, conformity, and defective goods are fully preserved.

Middle East

Quality claims must be submitted within 7 calendar days of delivery for priority processing. All claims within the 30-day window are accepted.

United States

This policy is in addition to, and does not limit, any rights you may have under applicable state consumer protection laws.

Brazil

Brazilian consumers retain all rights under the Consumer Defense Code (CDC), including the right to repair, replacement, or refund for defective products within the legal warranty period.
